Yours of May the 29th to your Husband is before me. And I am under the painful necessity of Stateing to you that your Husband Henry Curtis is no more. He came to this Hospital No 11 June 2nd with Small Pox and died the next day. His condition was such that he was not able to stand up under an attack of this kind. He could not speak and was not able to tell his name and we should not have found his name only from a letter in his Pocket from you. In regard to his effects. He had no money when he came here. As to his other things. You will have to give directions in regard to them. Nothing more I remain yours
